On March 4 2021, Google announced Flutter 2.0 in front of the world through their 'Flutter Engage' event. This announcement and update by Google is now leading Flutter towards fulfilling its main purpose or we can say their main goal that is to develop and publish apps or software for all available and popular platforms in the digital ecosystem having single codebase and unlimited possibilities.
Here are the major and most awaited features announced in the Flutter 2.0 update:
1) Stable Web
This is the most highlighted update in Flutter 2.0 as they move the Flutter's Web Support from beta to stable. Now you have browsers too in your devices list in the IDE while developing your next revolutionary product. They also added web-related renderers like Canvas-Kit renderer and HTML renderer in this stable version to enhance the performance of your web apps to the next level.
2) Early Stable Support for Desktops
Flutter's desktop support is also moved to early stable release. Now you can target popular desktop platforms for all of your apps using this latest release. Now the world is much better for the curious developer in you to polish your hands on not just mobile platforms but to larger screen sizes and configurations available in desktops.
3) Fully Null Safety
The Null Safety feature in Dart is already there in beta but now it is fully supported and is in stable version. And most packages and libraries hosted in pub.dev website also migrated their codes to provide null safety to their users. 4) Google Mobile Ads to Beta
Flutter also announced their Google Mobile Ads SDK open beta release in the event. This update now helps you to embed Google Mobile Ads in your apps more efficiently and tailor made to your requirement so that you can start monetize your cross-platform product as soon as possible.
